The Topsy Turvy World of Immigration.
In a follow up comment to a comment I left at the Badger Blogger a fellow named Proteus says:

As they say no good deed goes punished and no bad deed goes unrewarded. It is a mixed up world.
For immigrants who bypass our immigration laws, we look the other way and even create programs to help them buy houses and such.
For other immigrants who try to obtain legal status through our immigration system, we shackle them with beaurocratic [sic] delays and constant threat of deportation.
The way our system works, why bother doing it the legal way?

I find it particularly distasteful that our Governor is pushing a program that will give low interest, state backed loans to illegal aliens that try to stay hidden, but Regina's problems started because her and her husband wanted to live the American Dream by buying a house and doing it the right way. During the loan process, they needed updated documents on her immigration status, that started this whole mess!
