Princess Irene Speaks.

HT The Jawa Report.

Netherlander Pieter Dorsman brings to our attention the moonbattery of their Princess Irene.

“Western leaders of government have to take some steps. Talking to al-Qaeda and demonstrating that by doing that you can put an end to the classic enemy-view with real and open discussions”, according to Irene. She clearly distances herself from the hard language from President Bush this week when he addressed fighting terrorism.

“Western governments have to leave their prejudices at home during peace talks”, says Irene. Otherwise they wonÂ’t hear anything during such a conversation. Because of that a mediator is required. “that person would be qualified to break down each side’s tunnel visions”

The root causes of Islamist violence can, according to Irene, be found in poverty, trade barriers, and wrong relations. “The differences between the haves and have-nots is totally out of balance”

One thing that is not so obvious to us denizens of the later 20th and early 21st centuries is the amount of resistance to Churchill's war on Adolf Hitler. The usual narrative is the Western democracies rallied against Hitler with united populations. This is a misconception that probably arises from the people who were wrong about Hitler being quiet in the hope hoping people would forget how awfully wrong they were.

Fact is, quite a few people in the UK (the elites were for coming to terms with Adolf Hitler) even after the repeated broken promises by Adolf Hitler and numerous "one more chances" there was much resistance to resisted calls to fight Adolf. As I have said in the past this is a fine impulse but after a point it ceases being resistance to war and becomes invitation to enslavement, or at least a fool's bargain with 10,000 lives saved now at the price of millions later on.

So that Princess Irene wants to treat with Al-Qaeda is not completely shocking. If it is not shocking it still should be berated and put down as craven appeasement, as stalling the destruction of an ideology as bad as Naziism and Communism.

Read Pieter's whole blog there is some good context on Princess Irene I do not include in this blog.

Some sentences changed to make better sense, a link to a previous blog added, and a sentence extended the extension contains the reference to fool's bargain.
