Congratulations Rusty!

Dr. Rusty Shackleford had one of his wishes come true this morning.

Back then I and many others stated this was a bad precedent, to force someone to leave office based on an indictment (an indictment by an extremely partisan hack and is sure to be the focus of a movie starring the prosecutor and his hunt for the white whale). Of course, our opponents point out, if it were a Democrat being indicted we would demand he resign too. Point well taken but so? It doesn't make it any more right, the left would be just as correct in resisting such calls as we are in the supporting Tom DeLay. Yes, it is partisan. Remember that thing about being innocent until proven guilty?

However, Tom DeLay figures he would do more good by stepping down. Just because he is not in the House anymore does not mean he can not promote and fight for conservative causes.
