Why We Need Concealed Carry in Wisconsin!
We need concealed carry in Wisconsin!
The case from last Tuesday should convince people of this need.
This is the Milwaukee Journal's story on the event and do not fail to read the Minneapolis Star Tribune's story on the event.
An elderly man from Arkansas stopped at a gas station and was accosted by some youngsters, reports state the elderly man was kicked and punched. The man then produced a .44 from his car and killed one of the yourths a certain Randall L. Moss. The "Star Tribune" story talks about the punks stealing their Grandma's van and taking it to Milwaukee. Then the story talks about the kids trying to appropriate the car of the man from Arkansas. The Journal story seems to gloss over those facts. In fact the story in the Journal tries to paint the Arkansas man as a "Bernie Goetz." Though, the Star Tribune story states the punks had a gun and the Journal story does not mention that. The Star Tribune story mentions how the man was being beaten by multiple punks and the punks were using the old man's cane.
My understanding is everyone involved in this story is still in police custody.
The saddest part of this is a statement from the dead kid's grandmother:

Wisconsin needs concealed carry, without the .44 the man from Arkansas would be dead. Paul Bucher's suggestion that concealed carry license information be tied into DOT records is reasonable and I support that!
This leads to another thought which I will blog later.

I do not up and hold [the dead kid] with no wrongdoing. I try to raise my kids up to do nobody no harm. I try to be mad at that man, but I can't.
