Perhaps that is the wrong reaction but it sounds like Harriet Miers could be Sandra Day O'Connor's sister, not what we want or our nation needs. Bob Beckel on Fox News seemed okay with the pick, and that tells me that this is a bad pick. Of course Mr. & Mrs. Leftist are going to call her Satan incarnate.

I think this marks a point. No longer are conservative activists going to sit on their hands when a leftist president selects a blatant leftist for a supreme court nomination. We can not depend on Republican presidents to reliably select conservatives so in order to achieve the least damaging courts we need to make sure the leftists on the court stay within tolerable range of the center.
