Update on the Aragoncillo Espionage Case.

HT: The Belmont Club - The Call of Strange Places

While the above noted blog does not talk about the Aragoncillo case it does refer a blog I can tell is going to be one of my regular reads.

Former President of the Philippines Joseph Estrada (aka Erap) basically admits to the espionage.

Deposed and jailed former President of the Philippines, Joseph Estrada has issued a statement regarding the value of the information he received from Michael Ray Aquino. Aquino is accused, along with Leandro Aragoncillo in the case of espionage against the United States of America.

While Estrada admits to being one of the recipients of the materials stolen from the United States, he now says that the material that he received was of little value, and as such the theft should not be considered espionage.

What a hoot! Erap is not being very smart here (from what I have heard smartness is not a strong suit of Erap's).

Well, Erap claims the information was of little value I suppose but Bob from Mindanao reports debts of Aragoncillo disapeared. Debts of $500,000! I suppose when you are talking about control of an entire nation what is a half-million dollars.

Bob also reports Aragoncillo is working on a plea bargain. I hope it happens and you can be sure I will be watching this case closely!
