A Response.
Another day another comment that needs reply.
Dad29 stopped by and read my blog I posted late yesterday about the Ports Deal. He then leaves the following comment:
Well, that is what is going on. We allow the ChiComs to run ports, we allow a Saudi Arabian company to control some of our ports.
This company with corporate HQs in Riyadh controls multiple North American ports. Shall we rescind those deals? Why not?
You know, I gave credit to most of those opposed to the deal. My initial reaction was one of opposition but after thought it was clear we need friends in that part of the world and going back on deals is not a way to make and keep friends.
Again, look at this blog and study that map. Consider the regional geopolitical situation and look at the deal in a larger light.
The last point that requires addressing. Why not an American company? Name one that is into port management? Funny thing all the people I have seen representing DPW are American, indeed they are your port managers.
