There is a larger picture here and people are missing it. I have blogged on this topic aplenty and I think we are kicking a friend when we need a friend over in that part of the world.

Who is next? Let's alienate Oman next. We don't need their ports, we don't need all of those strategic pre-positions, we don't need access to their air strips.
