The Best Case On Both Sides.

Ironic the best case against the death penalty and the best case for the death penalty seem to be rolled into one individual.

A quick summary. Steven Avery the pictured man to the left was convicted of rape roughly 20 years ago. He claimed he was innocent and despite an alibi was convicted for the rape based on a lineup. The Wisconsin Innocence Project took up his case and was able to get some DNA testing done and the testing exonerated Mr. Avery from committing that rape. This is the best case against the death penalty, innocent people do get convicted of serious crimes from time to time.

Now, Steven Avery and his 16 year old nephew find themselves accused of not just murder, of not just murder and rape but much more. It was not just murder– it was torture. WGBA very neatly and summarizes the case the prosecution is going to work at proving. However, I use the phrase "very neatly" for a reason, there was NOTHING neat about what Ms. Halbach went through. In sum this is where Mr. Avery makes the best case for (receiving) the death penalty.

Here is the web memorial the Halbach family set up for Teresa. Remember her and the Halbach family in your prayers.

FWIW, I believe Avery was innocent of the earlier rape. However, Mr. Avery is a felon based on other crimes. BTW, I don't feel a whole lot for the nephew but I feel for his mother.
