From the stupidity front.

I can not recall who said it but some representative from an American Islamic association said Bush brought on the cancellation of the DPW deal due to all the nasty things the President said about Islam. Huh? Wow, so all of his exhortations of Islam being a religion of peace are nasty? The President has gone out of his way to say nice things about Islam and to avoid saying bad things.

Politicians and idiot reporters continue to state this is about port security. No it isn't. Its about demagoguery the Dems can pretend to be tough on security and Republican congressmen are cowering behind that posture.

Retaliation.

A story I heard (in passing) on the radio this morning notes a significant order of Boeing Airplanes is in jeopardy.

Boeing Airlines just closed a deal with Dubai. Emirates Air (a Dubai concern) agreed back in November of 2005 to order 42 777s with an option to purchase 20 more. Hmmm, think that option will be exercised? I bet Airbus just got a lot more competitive. I wonder if there is any leverage Dubai has with the 42 airplanes.

We do lots of business with the UAE and not only that the UAE provides quite a bit of services to our Armed Forces.
